BVB-Trainer Sahin mit Seitenhieb gegen Jens Lehmann
BVB-Trainer Edin Terzic
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl explained after the cup's round of 16 that he had "great confidence" in Terzić and that there was "no discussion" about his position.
Terzić himself also emphasized several times that he was "very satisfied" with his work and that he could "well imagine" staying with BVB beyond the summer.
Nevertheless, there are always rumors about possible successors, especially since the sporting crisis at the end of 2022.
Ex-Nationalkeeper Lehmann
One of the names that has been mentioned in this context is former national goalkeeper Jens Lehmann.
Lehmann himself recently fueled speculation in the "Sky90" talk show when he said he could "well imagine" a coaching job and named BVB as a possible club.
"I'm very ambitious. I would like to coach a top club. That has to be the goal. If you have the opportunity to do something like that, then you have to take it," said Lehmann.
Terzic's response
Terzic was asked about Lehmann's statements at the BVB press conference on Thursday and gave a rather dismissive answer.
"I understand that he's looking for a new job. But I'm not going to comment on this," said Terzic.
Terzic's reaction suggests that he is not particularly impressed by Lehmann's interest and that he is fully focused on his own work at BVB.
