Hundreds of supporters gathered in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday night for a watch party in support of Democratic Sen. Bob Casey. The event was held at the Scranton Cultural Center, and attendees cheered as Casey maintained a lead throughout the election night.

Barletta conceded the race shortly after 11 p.m. ET. He thanked his supporters and said he was "proud of the campaign that we ran."

"I want to congratulate Senator Casey on his victory," Barletta said. "I wish him all the best in the Senate."

Casey's victory is a boost for Democrats, who are hoping to gain control of the Senate in the midterm elections. Democrats need to win two seats to take control of the Senate, and Casey's victory gives them a good chance of doing so.
