Leverkusen's U19 Gain Momentum for Youth League at FC Liverpool

Young Werkself Impress with 3-1 Victory in Friendly

Bayer Leverkusen's U19 team traveled to England to face FC Liverpool in a friendly match as part of their preparations for the UEFA Youth League. Despite missing several key players, the young Werkself put in a strong performance and secured a 3-1 victory.

The match was played at Liverpool's academy training ground in Kirkby and saw Leverkusen take the lead early on through a goal from Iker Bravo. The Spanish striker, who has been in impressive form for the U19s this season, latched onto a through ball and calmly slotted it past the Liverpool goalkeeper.

Liverpool equalized just before halftime through a penalty, but Leverkusen regained the lead in the second half thanks to a stunning strike from Zidan Sertdemir. The Turkish midfielder picked up the ball on the edge of the area and unleashed a powerful shot that flew into the top corner.

Leverkusen sealed the victory late on when Joel Abu Hanna slotted home from close range after good work from Sertdemir down the left flank. The win was a positive result for Leverkusen, who will now turn their attention to the start of the Youth League group stage next month.
