DC
In the District of Columbia, Democrats held onto their control of the city, winning all of the at-large council seats and most of the ward seats. Incumbent Mayor Muriel Bowser was re-elected to a third term, defeating Republican challenger Stacia Hall. Bowser won 76% of the vote, while Hall won 24%.
In the at-large council races, Democrats Elissa Silverman, Robert White, and Kenyan McDuffie were re-elected. Republican challengers Giuseppe Niosi, Will Jawando, and David Krucoff all lost their races.
Maryland
In Maryland, Democrats also held onto their control of the state, winning the governor's race and most of the seats in the state legislature. Incumbent Governor Wes Moore was re-elected to a second term, defeating Republican challenger Dan Cox. Moore won 60% of the vote, while Cox won 40%.
In the state legislature, Democrats won 26 of the 47 seats in the Senate and 92 of the 141 seats in the House of Delegates. Republicans won 21 seats in the Senate and 49 seats in the House of Delegates.
Virginia
In Virginia, Republicans made gains in the state legislature, but Democrats held onto their control of the governorship. Incumbent Governor Glenn Youngkin was re-elected to a second term, defeating Democratic challenger Jennifer McClellan. Youngkin won 55% of the vote, while McClellan won 45%.
In the state legislature, Republicans won 22 of the 40 seats in the Senate and 52 of the 100 seats in the House of Delegates. Democrats won 18 seats in the Senate and 48 seats in the House of Delegates.
