Details Emerge on Mocksville Stolen Firearm Arrest
Mocksville, NC – A 25-year-old Mocksville man was arrested on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, after leading police on a high-speed chase and being found in possession of a stolen firearm. The incident occurred around 10:30 pm when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by the suspect, later identified as John Doe.
Doe initially refused to pull over and led officers on a brief pursuit that reached speeds of up to 90 miles per hour. The chase ended when Doe's vehicle crashed into a ditch. Doe was taken into custody without further incident.
During a search of Doe's vehicle, officers discovered a stolen handgun. The firearm had been reported stolen from a residence in Davie County earlier that day. Doe was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, felony fleeing to elude arrest, driving while impaired, and several traffic violations.
Doe is currently being held in the Davie County Jail under a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 9, 2023.
