Real Madrid Eye $200m Summer Deal for Haaland

The Norwegian forward has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in world football and is said to be a target for a number of top clubs

Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, who is seen as one of the most promising young players in world football. The 20-year-old has scored 70 goals in 69 appearances for Dortmund since joining the club in January 2020 and has also impressed for Norway, scoring 12 goals in 15 appearances.

Haaland has a release clause of 75 million euros, but it is believed that Real Madrid would be willing to pay a fee of around 200 million euros to secure his services.

The Spanish giants are in need of a new striker after Karim Benzema, who has been their main goalscorer for the past decade, turned 34 last month. Haaland would be the ideal replacement for Benzema and would give Real Madrid a long-term option up front.

However, Real Madrid are not the only club interested in signing Haaland. Manchester City are also reportedly keen on the Norwegian, and it is believed that they would be willing to pay a similar fee to Real Madrid.

It is unclear at this stage which club Haaland would prefer to join, but it is likely that he will make a decision about his future in the summer.

Haaland's agent, Mino Raiola, said last month that his client would "not stay long" at Borussia Dortmund.

"He is one of the players who can make the next step, so we will see what happens," Raiola said.

"Maybe at the end of the season, or maybe the one after, but it's for sure that Erling will make the next step."

Haaland would cost around $200 Million. Will Madrid or Man City sign the young talent?
