Trump's 'Massive Cheating' Allegation Denied by Michigan District Attorney
DA Says Claims Are 'Unprofessional' and 'Baseless'
Wayne County DA Kym Worthy Calls Trump's Statements 'Irresponsible'
Wayne County District Attorney Kym Worthy has denied Donald Trump's "wild allegation" that there was "massive cheating" in the 2020 election in Michigan. Worthy called Trump's claims "unprofessional" and "baseless," and said that they were "irresponsible" and "dangerous."
Trump has repeatedly made false claims about the election, alleging that it was "stolen" from him through widespread voter fraud. There is no evidence to support these claims, and they have been repeatedly rejected by election officials and courts.
Worthy's statement is the latest in a series of rejections of Trump's claims. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has also said that there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the state. And the Michigan Board of State Canvassers has certified the results of the election, which showed that Joe Biden won the state by more than 150,000 votes.
Trump's claims have been widely condemned by both Democrats and Republicans. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer called Trump's claims "dangerous" and "irresponsible." And Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that Trump's claims were "not true."
Despite the overwhelming evidence against him, Trump continues to make false claims about the election. His claims are damaging to democracy and are a threat to the peaceful transfer of power.
